Mary (Muller) Vettel liked to talk and visit, and was always busy sewing and working in her flower beds. In her 60's, Mary began to have heart trouble, and by the time she was in her seventies, Mary was bedridden, and lost most of her interest in the things she once enjoyed. When her husband, John, died unexpectedly, it seemed to take the rest of Mary's interest in living, and she died the following year.

Mary heiratete John Vettel am 27. Nov. 1912. (John Vettel wurde geboren am 13. Dez. 1888, starb am 11. März 1965 in Hillsboro, Traill, North Dakota und wurde bestattet in Hillsboro, Traill, North Dakota.)
