Obituary (Hillsboro Banner, 04/1918)
Mrs. Alexander Muller, who passed from this world April 25th, at her home one mile west of Hillsboro, was born at Belleville, Ill, December10, 1855, her maiden name being Bertha Zimmerman. She was married toMr. Muller September 6, 1876, at Springfield, Ill., where they made their home until 1913, when she joined her husband and some of her children, who had been at their farm home just west of the city since 1910. The love for her husband and her thirteen children and 33 grandchildren was known to all who had occasion to meet her. Ten days before her death she had returned from a few weeks' visit to her former home where she met for the last time all her children, her relatives and former friends.
The remains of the deceased were taken to her former home at Springfield, interment taking place on April 30th.
The family had a funeral service at the Alexander Muller farm in Hillsboro. It was a rainy, cold April day. A.L. Halvorson was the undertaker. He had a horse-drawn hearst backed up to the front door of the house after the funeral, and took the casket to the train station and took the body to Springfield.
